A concerned Marianne came over when Pat avoided her phone call. Marianne rushed Pat to the hospital when Pat hurt herself cutting vegetables. Jamie refused to let Mac find Rachel alone, despite learning that Zachary asked the FBI for assistance. Chuck Mulholland and Bill Eastlake of the FBI doubted Larry's dedication to apprehending Rachel. Larry searched for Mac and Jamie while Chuck and Bill questioned the doctor who treated Mitch. Olivia lectured Pat about alcoholism and suggested group therapy. Kit joked to Marianne about Rick being a difficult patient. Kit told Marianne she heard from Jerry and wondered why Margo hadn't called or arrived in Florida yet. Marianne and Kit decided to become roommates. Larry reluctantly allowed Mac and Jamie to escape for Red River. After questioning the train worker, Larry and the FBI men planned to follow Mac and Jamie. Pat admitted to Marianne she drove Philip away and needs to take care of herself instead of depending on others. Mel told Rachel that he left Mitch to recuperate at Ma Davis's cabin and suggested she go there to find him.

Joey suggested Leigh contact Sam Waters about working construction for the Cory/Halloway dock project or help with building Ada’s beauty parlor. Mac asked Jamie to carry on the Cory legacy and revealed plans to write his memoirs. Russ confronted Jason, who lied that Olivia misunderstood his intentions. Clarice and Leigh discussed his job search and the plans for Ada’s beauty parlor. Larry and the FBI men caught up to Mac and Jamie on the train. Tracy decided to end her professional relationship with Jason after Russ told her about his conversations with Olivia and Jason. Mac assured Jamie they will track down Mitch.

JANUARY 14, 1981 (EP. #4199)
Sam Waters and Jordan discussed arranging an accident at the Cory/Halloway dock project, which Jess wants shut down. Joey left Rick alone, but insisted on having Marianne come over later. Leigh was embarrassed when Clarice introduced Blaine as Larry’s sister. Clarice and Blaine wondered if Larry would resume interest in purchasing a house once Rachel has been found. Rick refused the soup and faked taking the pill Marianne brought over. Marianne and Joey separately denied Rick’s suggestions that Marianne was seeing Jamie. Jordan funded Joey’s Reno trip to learn card dealing. Olivia suggested Pat as fundraiser for the Emergency Care Unit to Russ and Dr. Berger. Jess appointed Blaine to head a new operation, but warned her to stay away from Joey or risk rousing Jordan’s jealousy. Joey and Russ brought Rick to the hospital when his fever worsened. Tracy advised Jason she wants to remain at the Supper Club instead of touring. Russ and Linda examined Rick. Joey called Kit when Rick was unable to provide his personal information. Kit felt guilty for being unable to help Rick and considered calling her family. Jordan assured Jess that Blaine has no lingering feelings for Jamie or his family. Jason decided to call Jordan after having a disagreement with Dooley about Russ and Tracy.

Note: Rick’s full name is Eric David Halloway. His birthday is May 6, 1954.

Liz refused to answer Philip’s questions about Pat’s whereabouts. Brian showed Charlie’s estate papers to Ada, who worried about Rachel. An overworked Cecile gave secretary Harriet a hard time. Jordan and Jess hoped arranging more accidents would shut down the Cory/Halloway dock project. Cecile was shocked when Philip resigned after learning that Pat had been fired. Russ told Jason his professional relationship with Tracy is over. Jason warned Russ that Tracy won’t be content as a housewife. Ada and Clarice discussed Joey, Rick, and Kit. Jason and Jordan discussed plans to finalize their deal on the Supper Club. Jordan offered to contact Ilsa Fredericks to help Jason with his problems. Leigh asked Sam Waters about a construction job. Clarice explained to Ada her renovation and financial plans for the new beauty parlor. Leigh told Clarice and Ada that he registered for classes and looked for work. Liz wasn’t much of a comfort to Cecile. Cecile signed contracts for Brian and asked him not to tell Mac about the dock project fire. Russ told Tracy that everything is settled with Jason. Jordan called Ilsa and asked her to take care of Jason’s needs while he’s in Vegas. Rachel called Ada but refused to reveal her whereabouts. Rachel panicked and asked for Ada’s help when she learned Mac and Jamie are looking for her.

JANUARY 16, 1981 (EP. #4201)
Larry and the FBI men kept an eye on Mac and Jamie, who made plans to split up. Mac departed from the train while being tailed by Bill Eastlake while Chuck Mulholland and Larry secretly stayed with Jamie. Rachel stopped at a diner looking for a ride to Ma Davis’ cabin. Tracy didn’t mind breaking plans when Russ needed to check on Rick at the hospital. Captain Petroni refused to believe Zachary’s insinuations about Larry’s suspected lack of conduct. Mitch awoke from another dream about his shooting. Russ, Olivia, and Linda fretted over their failed attempts to break Rick’s fever. Andy, a gas station attendant, offered Rachel the use of a jeep to reach Ma Davis’ cabin. Tracy was touched by Jason’s sweet talking. Kit told Marianne that Rick’s illness brought her and Joey closer. Marianne admitted to Kit she can’t return Rick’s feelings yet. Russ suggested Kit prepare herself and the family for the worst when discussing Rick. Zachary ordered Chuck and Larry to arrest Jamie for aiding a fugitive. Russ didn’t believe Tracy’s assumption that Jason wanted to forgive and forget. Jamie was arrested before he could get any information out of Mel, who had previously helped Rachel. Chuck denied the possibility and Larry was stunned when Jamie blurted out that Mitch was alive. Mitch heard a jeep crash, where Rachel was knocked unconscious.

JANUARY 19, 1981 (EP. #4202)
Chuck Mulholland had Jamie booked for aiding a fugitive. Tracy, Jason, and Dooley arrived in Vegas. Dooley decided to check out the pool while Tracy called Russ. Mitch watched over a sleeping Rachel and couldn’t understand why she looked familiar to him. Russ decided to make arrangements to join Tracy in Vegas. A demoralized Jamie called Brian and found comfort with Larry being assigned to his case. Jamie told Larry he felt guilty for being unable to find Rachel. Jason had Tracy leave to make dinner arrangements so he could call Ilsa. Kit visited with a recovering Rick. Mitch found a newspaper article about his shooting and realized that Rachel is on the run. Russ informed Rick that his viral flu was caused by a mosquito in the lab he was working in. Zachary threw him out when Larry objected to Jamie being questioned without sleep or a lawyer present. Brian arrived just in time to interrupt Zachary’s interrogation of Jamie. Sandy took a call from Jason, who was invited by Ilsa to check out the Health Club. Russ and Olivia warned Kit that a side effect of Rick’s viral flu is depression. Zachary warned Larry his conduct as a police officer is being investigated. Jamie told Brian that Mac is still looking for Rachel and that Mitch is alive. Rachel woke up and recognized Mitch at her bedside.

Blaine asked Jordan why Joey was sent away to Reno. Ada explained Jamie’s arrest to Rick, who sung Joey’s praises. Melissa interrupted an argument between Ilsa and Sandy to introduce Jason. Ilsa suggested Jason have Tracy visit the Health Club. Blaine eased Jordan’s jealousy by explaining that Joey is not her type of man. Ada told Brian she feels like her whole world is falling apart because of recent events in her family. Jim offered to take a stressed-out Liz to dinner. Zachary convinced Mr. O’Dell of the Commissioner’s Office to have Captain Petroni keep an eye on Larry. Kit gave Rick details about his illness. Rick saw an opportunity to get closer to Marianne when Kit explained she and Marianne will be living together. After Tracy and Dooley rehearsed, Jason convinced Tracy to accept Ilsa's invitation once Tracy and Dooley finished rehearsing. Ilsa forced Sandy to blackmail a woman into joining the Health Club with incriminating photos. Ilsa assigned Sandy to take care of Tracy during her visit. Brian and Jamie had a conference while waiting for Zachary. Jess agreed when Blaine suggested she check out Miranda's former home, which is on the market. Jess was impressed with how Blaine handled Jordan’s jealousy. Melissa warned Sandy to obey Ilsa, but Sandy vowed to free himself. Ada comforted Jamie.

Note: First appearance of Taro Meyer as Melissa Needham.

JANUARY 22, 1981 (EP. #4204)

Rachel was surprised to wake up and come face-to-face with Mitch. Brian agreed to have a trace put on Margo and assured Jerry not to worry. Cecile planned to visit Jamie in jail and told Liz to shut down the dock project. Jerry asked Kit if they could continue to see each other. Sandy flirted with Tracy while giving her a tour of the Health Club. Kit and Marianne both had reservations about pursuing new relationships. Mitch asked Rachel about the recurring dreams he's been having. Rick admitted his feelings for Marianne to Jerry. Rick was jealous when Marianne showed concern for Jamie. Cecile visited Jamie in jail where they shared a kiss. Marianne blamed the fever when declared his love for her and admitted she may have feelings for someone else. Liz was reluctant when Cecile insisted she contact Brian about confidential papers Mac had drawn up concerning Jamie and Cory Publishing. Liz left to meet Jim instead of helping Cecile with work. Sandy was interested to hear from Tracy about Bay City and Mac. Jerry warned Jamie that he cannot be released from jail unless Mac and Rachel return. Rachel asked Mitch to come back to Bay City.

Mel agreed to help Mac find Rachel. Ilsa forced Sandy to put the moves on Tracy. Mitch and Rachel left the cabin. Jordan gave Larry a loan for the house he plans to purchase. Tracy was thrilled when Russ called to say he’s coming to Vegas on Friday. Blaine changed the subject when she didn’t want to discuss Jordan's loan with Larry. Blaine realized her divorce from Jerry is final today. Tracy was impressed with how well-rounded Sandy seemed during dinner. Zachary ordered Bill Eastlake to arrest Mac and Rachel together. Blaine didn't appreciate Jordan’s suggestion that Larry be hired at the Arena. Rachel was reluctant to tell Mitch about his past and the shooting. Sandy made advances towards Tracy at her hotel suite. Zachary demanded that Jamie answer his questions or languish in prison. Mitch felt awkward as he watched Mac and Rachel being reunited. Tracy let Sandy stay for a while at the hotel suite when she learned Sandy was following orders from Ilsa. Sandy told Tracy that Jason asked Ilsa to make sure Tracy was well taken care of while in Vegas. Zachary gloated to Jamie that Mac and Rachel will be apprehended soon. Larry dodged Rick's questions about Jerry's hit-and-run accident and safety. Pat defended herself against Jamie's critique and comparisons to Cecile's work. Pat expressed doubt on Jamie's objectivity towards business decisions involving Cecile. Jamie resolved to redo the 1982 budget report himself. Pat told Sandy it's unpleasant reporting to Jamie while he is married to Cecile. Mac was bothered by Mitch and Rachel's interaction as Mitch visited Matthew. Mac feared talking to Jamie about Cecile would put more pressure on Jamie. Mitch told Olivia that his feelings for Rachel have returned. Olivia told Mitch that he's looking for a way to get back into Rachel's life. Pat felt Mac talking to Jamie might make the situation between Jamie, Cecile and her worse. Liz made remarks about marriage and children to Russ, Olivia, Rick, and Marianne until Jim changed the subject to the Emergency Care Unit. Mac took responsibility for the issue of the 1982 budget after he and Jamie accused each other of bias towards Pat and Cecile. Jamie stole some of Cecile's amphetamines to cure his drowsiness and began work on redoing the budget.

MARCH 20, 1981 (EP. #4245)
Cecile was surprised when Mac assumed that Jamie worked all night on the 1982 budget report and made several errors while completing it. Ada told Jamie that it will take time for Rachel to accept Cecile as his wife. Ada urged Jamie to ease his work load and spend more time with Cecile or risk his marriage suffering. Cecile bragged to Mac about her time management skills and not needing Sandy's assistance like Pat does. Mac and Cecile discussed helping Sandy fit in and make friends. Liz was flattered when Jim advised he wants her to be involved in his life instead of interfering with everyone else. Jamie accused Mitch of being obsessed with Rachel and nearly ruining her marriage. Cecile became more intrigued when Sandy spoke little of his background. Sandy told Melissa about Cecile's new interest in getting acquainted with him. Melissa warned Sandy about getting close to the Corys. Joey advised Blaine he's quitting the Arena. Blaine lied to Joey that she loves Jordan and the life they have together. Rachel blamed Cecile for Jamie's stress symptoms that Mitch mentioned. Melissa figured Cecile has her reasons when Sandy wondered why he was invited to the dinner party. Cecile was embarrassed when Jamie left abruptly after arguing with Edgar. Joey told Jordan he doesn't like how he does business and quit the Arena. Jamie mentioned being appointed Mac's successor to Sandy, who urged Jamie to get his priorities and relationships straight and in order. Jamie told Cecile he doesn't know how he'd make it without her. Mitch thought of Rachel while kissing Alice and then decided to break their date.

Zachary advised Brian there is no evidence linking Jordan to Jerry's accident to warrant an investigation. Linda told Rick and Marianne that Jerry's blood count hasn't been checked. Jess was interested when Jason mentioned Mitch has bought into the Sporting Life. Jess requested Jason look into the Sporting Life further as a possible location for the escort service. Rick felt guilty for neglecting Jerry, who is in surgery because of a ruptured spleen. Sandy was surprised when Jamie said the only person who would benefit from the dock site project being closed is Jess, the owner of the West End Development Company.

Rick assured Kit that Jerry will recover from surgery. Clarice became upset while telling Ada that Jerry had to have surgery. Sandy and Melissa disagreed about the significance of the Cory/Halloway dock site project. Sandy felt getting involved in the situation might save Mac's life despite Melissa's warnings. Rick apologized to Kit for being negligent towards Jerry's treatment. Pat advised the 1982 budget should be redone after Cecile interrupted her and Jamie discussing revisions for the report. Jordan accused Jason of putting on an act for Jess. Jason and Jordan made each other uncomfortable bringing up Tracy's death and Jerry's accident. Pat refused when Cecile offered to work with Pat after noticing Jamie's stress symptoms. Russ tried to placate a guilt-ridden Rick about not checking on Jerry, who is now in stable condition. Jamie decided to redo the budget himself after Cecile played the victim in her conflicts with Pat at work. Pat admitted to Phillip she isn't ready for a commitment like marriage until she enjoys her independence. Phillip and Pat decided to part ways after not agreeing with their goals for the relationship. Rick suggested Jamie talk to Kit about dealing with Taylor. Sandy told Joey that Jess is Jordan and Ilsa's boss and would benefit from the dock site project being closed. Russ confronted Rick about putting too much pressure on himself. Joey told Sandy it seems like no one involved with Jordan can escape. Sandy showed Ilsa's client book to Joey and worried that the organization's next move is against Mac. Olivia advised Mitch he could have both when Mitch vowed to separate his love for Matthew from his feelings for Rachel. Russ prescribed some mild sedatives after Jamie admitted that he's working too much and needs help to get through a hectic time. Larry lied to Jordan about ending his friendship with Jerry and called the hit-and-run an accident. Larry was ordered to find out why a guard had been posted in front of Jerry's room by Jordan. Russ advised Alice that Jamie's stress symptoms are work-related and have nothing to do with his marriage. Mitch told Melissa he's suspicious of Jason's involvement in The Sporting Life. Russ told Marianne that he confronted Rick about getting personally involved with his patients. Russ learned that Jerry has been removed from the critical list and told Marianne. Sandy refused to reveal his sources to Jamie after revealing his knowledge of Jess and his company being involved in organized crime. Sandy suggested Jamie go to the police with the information and suspected Ken Steele's involvement in the dock project accidents. Marianne invited Rick to her apartment once they shared a kiss. Jamie fired Ken Steele.

MARCH 26, 1981 (EP. #4249)
Ada advised Rachel that Mitch feels uncomfortable visiting Matthew and feels tension between him and Mac. Ada suggested Rachel get legal visitation rights for Mitch to see Matthew. Clarice accused Larry of not caring about her or Cory, who has been having nightmares and misses his father. Clarice was disappointed with Larry, who told her that nothing has changed between them and he hopes Clarice will understand his actions someday. Rachel promised not to object to Mac adopting Matthew if Mitch agrees to having visitation rights. Ken Steele told Jordan that Jamie fired him from the dock site project. Jordan requested that Ken tail Blaine and keep an eye on Larry. Melissa agreed that Blaine caused the hit-and-run because Jordan was suspicious of Jerry and Blaine's relationship. Melissa suggested Blaine reunite with Jordan and ensure he doesn't feel betrayed. Mac called the house, but hung up when Mitch answered the phone while holding Matthew. Larry planned to steal Jordan's client book after describing it to Jerry. Sally was sympathetic when Leigh mentioned that he dropped English Literature and may be kicked off the hockey team if he fails another course. Leigh and Sally expressed wishes to help Larry and Clarice reconcile after discussing Larry's visit to the house. Mac advised Brian that Mitch took advantage of his generosity and asked Brian to block any attempts Mitch might make against adopting Matthew. Leigh took the blame when Alice was angry with Sally for breaking a promise to meet at the hospital. Sally understood when Alice expressed her love and wishes not for Sally to get hurt. Blaine asked Jerry for forgiveness and understanding regarding her involvement with Jordan. Blaine vowed revenge against Jordan. Ken spotted Blaine coming out of Jerry's hospital room.

Kit promised to support Jerry through his recovery. Kit was surprised when Jerry requested to see Brian right away. Mitch confronted Brian about a legal document, which gives Mac custody of Matthew and Mitch visitation rights. Mitch advised Brian his plans to sue for Matthew's custody and raise the child himself. Mitch believed Rachel, who was upset over the adoption papers and said the terms aren't according to her wishes. Mitch told Rachel he remembers being in love with her. Kit decided to secretly pay for Jerry's medical bills after Rick warned the Halloway money affected Kit's marriage to Joey. Jerry told Brian that Larry is working undercover looking for evidence against Jordan. Brian agreed to be Larry's contact instead of Jerry, who mentioned that Larry is looking for Jordan's client book. Joey kissed Blaine after expressing hopes that they will be together once they nail Jordan. Liz told Jamie that Taylor plans to sell his shares of the Cory/Halloway dock project. Mac told Rachel he was forced to have the adoption papers drawn up because he fears that Mitch will ruin their marriage. Mac accused Rachel of having feelings for Mitch rather than just concern for his rights as Matthew's biological father. Mac left the Cory residence after Rachel slapped him. Blaine was searching through Jordan's office for the client book when someone turned the door knob and opened the door.

Note: Jerry Grove learned sculpting while in college.

MARCH 30, 1981 (EP. #4251)

Rachel felt Mac drew up the adoption papers to punish her for having feelings towards Mitch. Larry came clean to Blaine about working undercover against Jordan and asked her to search for the client book when he was unable to find it in Jordan's desk. Jamie suggested Mac buy out Taylor's share of the dock site to complete the project on time. Mac advised Jamie that he and Rachel argued about Matthew's custody. Mitch suggested to Mac they leave Rachel alone so she can make some decisions. Mac and Mitch accused each other of being selfish but agreed to back off Rachel. MARCH 31, 1981 (EP. #4252)
Jamie was irritated by Cecile's concerns about him working too much. Liz complained to Mac about her desk being left in disarray by Jamie searching for financial figures. Jamie laid into Cecile for neglecting to have Liz type up the proposal in a timely manner as originally requested. Melissa asked Jason to pass along his praise of her singing and work for the escort service and The Connection to Ilsa. Mac assumed Jamie's conduct towards Liz was due to lack of sleep and stress. Cecile told Sandy she feels responsible for Jamie and Liz's argument and vented about work and Jamie's behavior. Jason thought he recognized Sandy and Cecile couldn't place where she had heard the name before as Sandy introduced himself to Jason as Alex Sanderson. Melissa acted quickly to keep Jason from thinking about meeting Sandy in the past. Mac thanked Liz for being understanding about Jamie and praised Sandy's work. Mac told Ada that he moved out of the Cory estate and he and Rachel disagree about Matthew's custody. Mac told Ada that he's tired of fighting for his marriage and Mitch's interference. Sandy told Liz and Cecile that Mac wanted Jamie to attend a board meeting. Liz received a busy signal while trying to call the suite because Jamie fell asleep from sedatives. Melissa admitted to Blaine that she and Sandy worked together while reporting to Ilsa and agreed to ask Sandy to level with Blaine about his past. Sandy woke Jamie and helped him get dressed for work. Mac persuaded two key board members Edith Abbott and Arthur Desmond to vote for purchasing Taylor's shares of the dock project. Edith warned Mac that if anything happens to jeopardize the investment, she'll be the first to insist on having Jamie replaced as administrator. Mac told Jamie the proposal was accepted despite several flaws in the presentation.

Philip pumped Joey about Sandy's past. Jerry was touched when Kit paid his hospital bills. Mac gifted Jamie and Cecile with a cabin at Twin Forks. Jamie almost caught Ken Steele planting bombs at the Cory complex. Melissa freaked when Jason was sure he'd recognized Sandy. Melissa changed the subject about Sandy to convince Jason to consider a relationship with her. Rick and Marianne made love. Phillip ran a background check on Sandy and was surprised it yielded no results. Clarice offered Jerry her place to help with his recovery. Jess was pleased when Jason updated him on the progress of the escort service. Sally decided not to join Leigh in Montreal.

APRIL 2, 1981 (EP. #4254)
Ada found a picture of Mac and Miriam among Sandy's belongings. Marianne felt ill while Kit was fixing breakfast. Jamie asked Phillip to drop the investigation when no record of Sandy was found. Sandy told Ada that he never knew his father and denied the significance of the picture. Sandy asked Ada not to mention the picture of Mac and Miriam to anyone. Mitch informed Joey of his new job responsibilities at The Sporting Life. Rachel confessed to Mitch that Mac has always wanted a son and wouldn't mind Mitch not being involved in their lives. Rick prepared Jerry for discharge, who told Kit he's staying at Clarice's. Marianne remembered making love to Rick and allowing him to stay the night. Kit reminded Marianne that Larry no longer lives at the house when Marianne told her not to worry about Jerry staying there. Cecile was upset over Jamie returning to work. Jamie didn't want Cecile asking Mac if they could make expansions on the cabin. Leigh helped Jerry get comfortable at Clarice's house. Cecile was puzzled when Jamie mentioned that Mac has always wanted a son to carry on the Cory name. Jamie and Cecile didn't agree that Matthew's paternity would matter if Mac had a biological son. Melissa informed Jordan that Blaine has worked hard on getting the escort service opened. Jordan took credit for opening the escort service at The Sporting Life and fumed when Melissa brought up Jason's meeting with Jess. Melissa was stunned with Ilsa hinting about an old friend that might arrive with a client book. Cecile was surprised when she recognized the last name Sanderson among Mac's memoirs and recalled Sandy calling himself the name at L'Auburge. Cecile resolved to find Sandy's birth certificate. Jamie almost caught Ken Steele leaving Mac's office after Ken planted a bomb there.

Note: Jamie tells Cecile he was 14 when Mac and Rachel first married.

APRIL 3, 1981 (EP. #4255)
Rachel told Jerry and Clarice she plans to talk to Mac about Mitch and Matthew. Jordan agreed to meet with Ken Steele. Mac refused to change his mind about seeking custody of Matthew and didn't agree with Rachel about Mitch being able to provide for the child. Mac accused Rachel of not wanting to break ties with Mitch. Melissa warned Sandy that Jason is sure he's met him before and convinced Sandy to start over away from Bay City. Sandy told Melissa that he hid Ilsa's client book, but refused to reveal its whereabouts. Mac asked Rachel to choose between him and Mitch and was disappointed when Rachel couldn't decide right away. Jamie advised Liz that him and Rachel haven't reconciled and felt genuinely sorry for Rachel, who has no support right now. Jerry told Clarice that he joined the police force for job stability. Jamie assured Mac that he's able to manage the Daily Ledger and other job responsibilities. Mac told Jamie that Mitch is pressuring Rachel into preventing Mac from adopting Matthew. Melissa overheard Jordan and Ken Steele making payment arrangements after the men discussed the bombs planted at the Cory Complex. Clarice sympathized with Rachel, who explained she needs to consider Matthew's custody without being pressured. Jamie threw punches at Mitch, who insulted Jamie about being a "shining example" of Mac's child rearing. Melissa told Sandy about the bombs being planted at the Cory Complex. Sandy asked Melissa to keep calling Jamie while he goes to the Complex. Mac assured Jamie that he would still be working at the Complex, even if Mac wasn't married to Rachel. Mac complimented Jamie on his natural editorial talents and work ethic. Sandy arrived to warn Mac about the bomb in his office. Mitch kissed Rachel, who decided to leave town to decide on Matthew's custody. Mac and Sandy arrived calling for Jamie just as the bomb went off.

APRIL 6, 1981 (EP. #4256)
Mitch understood, but didn't agree with Rachel leaving town to decide on Matthew's custody. Melissa assured Jason she'll never disappoint him. Mac and Sandy arrived calling for Jamie just as an explosion occurred. Jordan assured Jess that the bombings at the Complex will convince Mac to withdraw from the docksite project. Blaine fibbed to Jordan about Melissa needing help at The Connection when Melissa called. Rick agreed to provide medical help when Russ informed him about the bombings. Sandy cradled an unconscious Mac and called him Dad. Jess toasted to the bombings and complimented Jordan on being successful after hearing a news report on the radio. Melissa told Blaine about overhearing Jordan and another man talking about planting bombs at the Complex. Blaine wondered what Jordan was after causing the docksite project incidents and the bombings while Melissa worried about Sandy. Sandy told Mac that a bomb went off once Mac regained consciousness. Melissa and Blaine denied knowledge of it when Jason mentioned an explosion occuring at the Complex. Cecile called Ada while worrying about Jamie being late. Blaine told Joey about the explosions at the Complex and that Melissa is worried that Sandy is there. Sandy tried to calm down Mac and find out about Jamie's condition. Joey tried convincing Blaine not to return to Jordan. Rick was stunned after learning about a gas leak. Mac and Sandy cleared debris trying to locate Jamie. Jason accused Melissa of playing games when she didn't want to spend the night with him. Melissa poured on the charm and kissed Jason, who threatened to return Melissa to Ilsa. Blaine warned Joey against revealing his feelings for her. Sandy called out to Jamie, who lay unconscious with a manuscript in hand.

APRIL 7, 1981 (EP. #4257)
Mac was frantic trying to get to Jamie. Melissa wasn't receptive to Jason's affection until he accused her of being coy. Clarice was surprised when Jerry wanted to return to work part-time to help Brian. Phillip tried to calm an upset Cecile and offered to pick her up from the cabin. Melissa left Jason after they made love, writing a note for him about having business at The Connection. Sandy was unable to find an escape route. Larry and Jerry suspected Jordan's hand in the explosions at the Complex and resolved to find the man who planted the bombs. Sally was disappointed when Leigh refused to skip hockey practice to spend time with her. Blaine tried to assure Melissa that no one had been hurt from the bombings. Joey and Blaine suggested Larry's help in finding out more information about the explosions. Melissa suggested Blaine prepare an explanation for Jordan about why she's at Joey's apartment. Mac and Sandy found an unconscious Jamie after removing debris. Melissa told Larry about Jordan and Ken Steele's conversation, but refused to go to the police with the information. Melissa and Blaine agreed the police wouldn't believe Melissa's story and that Ilsa and Jess may take care of Melissa even if Jordan is nailed. Sally decided to leave Montreal after arguing with Leigh about his priorities and seeing the sights. Larry told Rick that Mac, Sandy, and Jamie's whereabouts are unknown and the men could be trapped in the Complex. Cecile told Ada and Clarice she doesn't know Jamie's whereabouts. Sandy went for help while Mac watched over Jamie. Sandy passed out from a gas leak.

APRIL 8, 1981 (EP. #4258)
Firefighters rescued Sandy, who had passed out from a gas leak. Jim advised Alice that children grow up and assert their independence. Kit asked Marianne if she is pregnant after preparing for a date with Jerry. Sandy convinced Rick to help him rescue Mac and Jamie. Sally confessed her feelings for Leigh to Alice and ended the conversation abruptly when Alice asked if they slept together. Clarice interrrupted Kit and Jerry spending time together to tell him that Mac and Jamie are still in the Complex. Kit couldn't convince Jerry not to confront Jordan, but promised to wait until he returns. Mitch bought a plane ticket for St. Croix hoping to find Rachel. Olivia confirmed for Marianne that she is pregnant. Kit warned Blaine that Jerry plans to confront Jordan with a gun. Jim advised Alice to accept that Sally has grown up and to give her some space. Sandy convinced Mac to leave Jamie in Rick's care. Marianne decided to make a decision about the pregnancy alone after talking to Olivia. Sandy tried to comfort Mac, who thanked Sandy for his help getting out of the Complex. Mac told Phillip and Larry about the explosions and the gas leak. Phillip asked Sandy how he knew about the planted bombs after Mac mentioned Sandy's warnings. Jerry accused Jordan of orchestrating his hit-and-run and the bombings. Jerry pulled a gun on Jordan and convinced Blaine to escape with him. Rick and a firefighter took Jamie out of the Complex on a stretcher. Jerry tried to assure Blaine she's safe and will never have to return to Jordan. Jordan ordered Ken Steele to find Blaine and bring her back to him. Ada, Mac, Larry, Cecile, Phillip, and Sandy moved towards an ambulance when another explosion occured from a gas leak.

APRIL 9, 1981 (EP. #4259)
Ada, Mac, Larry, Cecile, Phillip, and Sandy were relieved when Jamie was removed by Rick from the Complex on a stretcher. Mitch recalled spending time with Rachel and Matthew. Jerry and Blaine had no regrets towards confronting Jordan. Jerry left the loft after warning Blaine not to answer the door or the phone. Olivia joked about Sandy having nine lives for surviving the dock project incident and Cory Publishing bombings. Kit and Rick examined Jamie and were puzzled by the cloudiness in his eyes. Jamie was relieved when Rick and Cecile mentioned that no one had been hurt in explosions. Melissa accused Sandy of having a death wish when Sandy said he's close to getting what he wants regarding Mac. Jerry told Rick and Kit he confronted Jordan because he suspects his involvement in the bombings. Kit informed Jerry that she left Clarice's house because she caught him embracing Blaine. Cecile wanted to show Sandy her gratitude for saving Jamie's life. Kit worried that Jerry still loves Blaine and didn't explain her comment to Rick about him having enough problems of his own. Larry and Jerry arranged a meeting with Melissa to offer police protection in exchange for testifying against Jordan. Phillip told Mac about the damage done to the Complex. Joey accused Jerry of putting Blaine in danger for confronting Jordan. Russ and Alice refused to release Jamie from the hospital and urged him to rest. Joey suggested Blaine take care of herself when she worried about Sandy's safety and the publicity that will be involved because Sandy helped rescue Mac and Jamie. Jamie admitted to Rick he took sedatives, which explained why Jamie was unconscious for so long. Mac was surprised when Alice mentioned that no one has heard from Rachel and that her whereabouts are unknown. Ada told Mac that Rachel went out of town to consider Matthew's custody.

APRIL 10, 1981 (EP. #4260)
Jerry told Blaine he has a meeting with Melissa at Brian's office and hoped Melissa would cooperate with the police. Mac and Ada comforted each other over Rachel's whereabouts being unknown. Jamie checked himself out of the hospital despite Rick's warnings. Ada worried about Jamie's reaction to Mac's desire to promote Sandy. Jordan threatened to tell Ilsa that Melissa hasn't been cooperative if Melissa is holding back about Blaine's whereabouts. Joey advised Jason that Mitch may not want to be involved in the Sporting Life because of its escort service. Joey informed Melissa that Blaine left Jordan. Jerry told Kit that Blaine put herself in danger by leaving Jordan after preventing Jerry from using the gun. Kit apologized to Jerry for being jealous and insecure about his feelings for her. Rick and Marianne declared their love for each other. Melissa refused to cooperate with the police and warned Jerry to be careful and ensure Blaine's safety out of fear that Jordan's men will find them. Mac told Phillip about the damage to the Complex and that he might need to sell the docksite project. Mac advised Phillip he doesn't care about Sandy's past and suggested he stop the investigation. Jess was stunned when Jordan mentioned Sandy rescuing Mac and Jamie. Mitch contacted Rachel, but was speechless when she answered the phone. Blaine decided to go on the run with Jerry, who said that Jordan has people looking for her. Ken Steele tailed Jerry and Blaine. Sandy reluctantly agreed to accept Mac's job offer of helping Jamie oversee the dock project. Jordan ordered Ken to escort Blaine home to him. Jamie apologized to a neglected Cecile. Mac told Rachel about Jamie and Mac's injuries and suggested she return to Bay City. Rachel informed Mitch that she's made an important decision regarding Matthew.

APRIL 13, 1981 (EP. #4261)
Marianne admitted her feelings for Rick to Russ. Rachel advised Mitch she plans to reveal her decision regarding Matthew's custody once she talks to Mac. Blaine was affected when learned Jerry had checked them in as Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Grove. Ada warned Rachel about Mac's reaction to her and Mitch spending time together in St. Croix. Jordan provided Ken Steele with an assistant because Ken lost track of Jerry and Blaine. Jerry and Blaine decided to head to Florida. Rick informed Rachel that Jamie checked himself out of the hospital despite his concerns. Marianne tried to comfort Kit, who remembered Jerry mentioning his confrontation with Jordan. Mac overheard Ada ask Mitch about spending the weekend with Rachel. Russ offered Rick a room so he could occasionally get some sleep while at the hospital. Joey and Sandy agreed to meet at the apartment. Mac advised Mitch he plans legal action against his visitation rights. Ada convinced Mac to hear Rachel's explanation about choosing St. Croix to think. Joey worried about Blaine's disappearance and Jordan's possible involvement. Mac and Rachel didnt agree that the situation with Mitch and Matthew's custody is complicated. Joey and Sandy broke into the loft hoping to find Jerry and Blaine. Sandy told Joey that it's unlikely that Jordan did anything to Jerry and Blaine because there were no clues left behind at the loft. Mac asked Rachel why making a decision regarding Matthew had anything to do with spending the weekend with Mitch. Rachel explained to Mac that Mitch arrived at the hotel to tell her that Mac and Jamie were injured during the bombings. Mac warned Rachel she will pay the consequences of letting Mitch remain as Matthew's legal father.

APRIL 15, 1981 (EP. #4262)
Sandy informed Melissa that he is unaware of Jerry and Blaine's whereabouts and that Jordan is looking for them. Sandy and Melissa wondered if Jerry and Blaine had been killed. Melissa planned to talk to Jordan on the condition that Sandy not get involved. Jamie hid a bottle of pills from Cecile, who couldn't convince him against going to the docksite. Cecile had a letter that was delivered to her. Jordan told Ken Steele that Jerry and Blaine are most likely headed for Florida. Jamie worried about how his relationship with Mac would be affected because of Mac and Rachel's marital problems. Jordan ordered Ken to contact him once he's found Jerry and Blaine. Melissa noticed how upset Jordan was while talking about Blaine's whereabouts. Jerry and Blaine decided to head for Gainesville. Cecile learned from Sandy's birth certificate that he is Mac's biological son. Sandy told Jamie that Mac appointed him as Jamie's assistant to help run the docksite project. Melissa warned Joey not to search for Jerry and Blaine after mentioning Jordan's demeanor and attitude. Melissa admitted to caring about Sandy when Joey asked why she's so worried about him. Cecile complimented an overwhelmed Liz on her work and asked about Sandy's whereabouts. Jamie accused Mac of keeping Sandy's promotion and plans to sell the docksite project from him. Cecile looked unconvinced after Mac said he's not mad at Jamie and cares deeply for him. Kit and Marianne disagreed that Rick should know about her pregnancy. Joey comforted Kit, who became upset over Jerry not calling. Joey admitted to Kit of having feelings for Blaine and being worried about her. Sandy requested Mac release him as an assistant because of Jamie's possible resentment. Mac asked Sandy for time to discuss things with Jamie. A drugged Jamie fell and accidentally hit Cecile during an argument.

Ken Steele and his assistant bribed a hotel worker, who confirmed that Jerry and Blaine stayed there and asked for maps of Georgia and Florida. Phillip reminded Pat about the money Mac is spending to keep Cory Publishing running when she complained about being unable to work in a cramped office. Louise explained to Rachel and Ada that Brooks isn't returning because he accompanied their previous employers to Hong Kong. Rachel advised Ada she will remain with Mac, avoid Mitch, and support Mac's adoption of Matthew. Phillip told Pat that there's more to Sandy than being present at the docksite project accident, the bombings, and working for Cory Publishing. Marianne informed Pat she's decided to keep the baby. Sandy was interested when Liz mentioned the microfiche room wasn't damaged due to the bombings. Larry told Clarice that Blaine is in trouble and Jerry took Blaine away. Clarice was surprised by Larry's fears of Jordan. Kit revealed Marianne's pregnancy to Rick. Cecile lied to Liz and Sandy about her bruised eye. Leigh and Sally made plans to spend the weekend together after having an argument. Mac told Mitch that he broke their agreement not to see Rachel. Mitch accused Mac of giving Rachel ultimatums. Jerry told Blaine he is carrying a gun for protection. APRIL 17, 1981 (EP. #4264)
Mac complimented Jamie on his work, but said he's given him too much responsibility. Jerry insisted that he and plan continue to Gainesville despite his failing health. Mac refused to let Jamie resign from Cory Publishing or blame himself for the docksite project being sold. Clarice encouraged Leigh to be himself and spend the weekend with Sally. Jordan wasn't impressed when Ken Steele mentioned they are closing in on Jerry and Blaine. Jordan told Jason to be sure he can persuade Mitch into accepting the escort service. Alice was amused by Zachary, who mocked Mac and Jamie while questioning Rick about their injuries from the bombings. Larry warned Clarice not to confuse gratitude with love when Clarice wasn't sure about her feelings for Jerry. Alice agreed to have dinner with Zachary after explaining her relationship with Jamie and Rachel's past with Steven Frame. Mitch agreed to consider Jason's suggestion of selling his shares of The Sporting Life because Mitch objected to putting an escort service there. Captain Petroni warned Larry against getting too emotionally involved after learning that Jerry and Blaine are missing and Jordan's involvement is suspected. Jamie mixed booze with pills at The Connection. Captain Petroni verified Jerry's gun permit and informed a relieved Larry that Jerry and Blaine are in Tate, Georgia. Rick warned Jamie against drinking and suggested he talk to someone about his problems. Ken told Jordan that Jerry and Blaine exchanged a car for a van and are headed to Florida. Jamie was surprised with Louise's return and left a message for Rachel to call him. Rick was about to take Jamie home when he passed out.

APRIL 20, 1981 (EP. #4265)
Olivia warned Alice to be careful of Zachary. Leigh and Sally planned to spend the weekend together. Mitch informed Rachel that he's leaving Bay City and selling his shares of The Sporting Life. Jerry promised Blaine he'll see a doctor once they reach Gainesville. Jamie admitted to mixing pills and booze when Rick said that he passed out and was brought to the hospital. Mac and Rachel searched for Jamie to no avail. Rick confessed to nearly dying from his previous drug habit to Jamie and vowed not to let the same thing happen to him. Kit told Russ that Jerry may have left town to protect Blaine after confronting Jordan. Russ urged Kit to have Jerry see a doctor if she hears from him. Cecile worried about Jamie hurting himself while his whereabouts are unknown. Mitch agreed to accompany Rachel to the cabin in hopes of finding Jamie. Alice didn't appreciate warnings from Russ about her past marriages and date with Zachary. Alice advised Russ she can take care of herself, but will call him if she gets into trouble. Alice warned Leigh she will not tolerate such behavior after catching him and Sally making out. Sally accused Alice of not letting her have boyfriends without interference. Kit worried to Joey about Jerry contracting an infection because he missed his post-operation exam. Sandy seemed affected when Cecile reunited with Jamie. Sandy grilled Jamie about whether he's having marital problems and Cecile's bruised eye. Rachel called Louise and informed Mitch that Jamie is at the penthouse. Mitch and Rachel decided to stay at the cabin to enjoy the fire place. Jerry refused Blaine's suggestion about seeing a doctor instead of waiting until they arrive in Gainesville. Mitch and Rachel became intimate.

APRIL 21, 1981 (EP. #4266)
Brian found his office ransacked when he returned to town. Mitch agreed to support Rachel, who worried about Mac's reaction to their affair. Jordan didn't agree to forgive Zachary's gamblings markers because he didn't have any new information about Jerry and Blaine. Jordan told Zachary he found Jerry's phone records to Gainesville in Brian's office. Blaine nursed a feverish Jerry, who advised they have to keep moving without seeing a doctor. Larry informed Brian that Jerry and Blaine left town after confronting Jordan and Jerry was arrested for having a gun without a permit. Brian became worried about Jerry after learning about Jerry's whereabouts and condition from Larry. Alice congratulated Marianne when she revealed her engagement to Rick. Marianne told Alice she suspects that Jamie's marital problems may be the cause of his drinking. Blaine panicked when Jerry became delirious. Alice told Mac that Jamie attempted to reach Rachel before passing out from drinking. Alice didn't want to hear details about Leigh and Sally's weekend together. Blaine revealed her whereabouts to Sandy, who planned to delivery medication for Jerry that Rick prescribed. Jamie assured Mac that he doesn't have a drinking problem. Mac was stunned when Louise mentioned Mitch and Rachel being together at the cabin in search of Jamie. Sandy told Melissa that Jerry is sick and that he and Blaine are running out of money. Leigh faced being kicked off the hockey team if he doesn't improve his grades. Jordan informed Ken Steele that Jerry and Blaine are currently in Gainesville. Mac agreed to give Sandy a few days off work and loan him $2000.00 in cash. Rachel refused to return home from the cabin until tomorrow and admitted to being there with Mitch. Rachel read a bedtime story to Amanda while Mitch played with a fussy Matthew.

APRIL 22, 1981 (EP. #4267)
Mitch noted that Rachel was gazing around the Cory residence as though she were unfamiliar with it. Jordan warned Ken not to make excuses for his and Eddie's failures in apprehending Blaine and Jerry. Rick brought money and antibiotics for Jerry to Sandy. Rachel refused to allow Mitch to be present while she levels with Mac. Mitch reminded Rachel that Mac will fight her for custody of Amanda. Blaine left Jerry alone to meet with Sandy, who insisted on helping her and Jerry escape from Jordan's henchmen. Jess informed Jordan and Jason that Ilsa is looking for Sandy because he stole her client book. Jason got nervous as Jess spoke of dire consequences should he learn that Melissa is covering for Sandy. Ken and Eddie discovered Blaine and Jerry's whereabouts. Pat was thrilled by Rick and Marianne's marriage plans. Brian could not convince Mac that Mitch only accompanied Rachel to the cabin to help locate Jamie. Mac told Brian that he wants to start divorce proceedings from Rachel. Larry fibbed to a suspicious Jordan that he is estranged from Blaine and doesn't know her whereabouts. Jerry fainted while trying to hold Ken at gunpoint in the hotel room. Kit fretted to Joey that Jerry might develop an infection from his surgery. Kit dissembled acceptance of Rick and Marianne's engagement for Joey and Rick's benefit. Marianne grew defensive when Kit doubted her motivations in marrying Rick. Melissa told Larry that Sandy left town to help Jerry and Blaine. Sandy grabbed a gun once he and Blaine deduced that a car with an out-of-state license plate belonged to Jordan's men. Rachel told Ada that her beliefs in Mac and their marriage have been shattered because Mac is determined to punish her while Mitch has been supportive and loving. Ada warned Rachel that she and Mac will never reconcile should she leave him. Melissa confessed to Jason that she kept quiet about Sandy to protect him from Ilsa. Sandy knocked Ken unconscious and fled the hotel with Jerry and Blaine. Sandy gave Jerry the antibiotics while Blaine kept a cold compress on his forehead.

APRIL 23, 1981 (EP. #4268)
Clarice refused to let Larry see Cory. Jamie told Mac he should've been replaced when Mac said the Cory board voted to sell the dock project. Mac agreed to let Jamie find a buyer for the dock project. Larry vowed not to let Clarice prevent him from seeing Cory and accused her of wanting to replace him with Jerry when she brought up divorce. Russ diagnosed Zachary with hypertension and put him on a diet plan. Leigh wasn't happy when Clarice said that Denny called and lectured her about Leigh's grades. Mac told Jamie he's moved out of the mansion and requested that he remain at Cory Publishing as heir apparent. Russ warned Alice against seeing Zachary for fear she'll get hurt. Rick overheard Russ and Brian discussing the risks Jerry is taking with his health. Joey was upset over being the last to know when Melissa told him Blaine's whereabouts and Sandy leaving town to provide medicine for Jerry. Jamie told Ada it's his fault Rachel changed her mind about letting Mac adopt Matthew. Jamie informed Ada that he tried to call Rachel to give his whereabouts. Russ lit into Rick for prescribing antibiotics for Jerry and giving them to Sandy to administer. Clarice consulted with Brian about taking legal action to keep Larry away from Cory. Clarice jumped at Brian's suggestion of having a restraining order placed against Larry. Joey suggested Kit deal with her own problems instead of wondering about Marianne's reasons for marrying Rick. Brian urged Larry to come clean to Clarice to save his marriage. Larry told Brian he enabled Clarice to find comfort with Jerry by asking him to support her. Sally was disappointed when Leigh planned to leave for hockey practice instead of staying the night with her. Joey informed Rick that he and Kit are turning to each other for comfort during a difficult time. Ada remonstrated Mac for leaving Rachel, being stubborn, and having too much pride to save his marriage. Jamie overheard Mac inform Ada that he's had Brian start divorce proceedings.

APRIL 24, 1981 (EP. #4269)
Sandy left Jerry and Blaine at the airport so he could ditch the van and buy plane tickets for New York. Jamie accused Rachel of not accepting Cecile but loving Mitch despite the problems he's caused in Mac and Rachel's marriage. Jamie warned Rachel that Mac will fight for custody of Amanda and has started divorce proceedings. Alice was upset for not knowing Sally's whereabouts last night and asked Leigh to leave before he could explain anything. Alice tried to set some ground rules prompting Sally to move out of the Matthews' house. Jess appointed Jordan to be in charge of operations in Bay City on the condition that he take care of the issue with Blaine. Cecile agreed with Pat's comment about getting what she wants from Jamie when Cecile planned to have Sandy specifically assigned to her. Jamie promised Phillip a financial report for The Ledger's new presses. Kit resented Rick's concern about her friendship with Joey. Rick informed Kit that Jerry will need a doctor if the antibiotics don't work. Jason told Melissa that Jamie came to the night club looking for pills. Joey suggested Leigh show discretion and not advertise his relationship with Sally out of respect for Alice. Joey was surprised by Leigh's plans of finding a full-time job and living with Sally. Joey worried about Blaine while comforting Kit. Pat told Russ that Rick and Marianne are getting married. Sandy assured Blaine that Jerry will improve, but they have to stay one step ahead of Jordan's men to survive. Jamie told Cecile that he caused Mac and Rachel's impending divorce by not talking to Rachel, allowing her to turn to Mitch for support. Cecile understood when Jamie planned to work late on the financial report for Phillip. Russ complimented Rick on his professional conduct with handling Jerry's treatment. Brian and Pat agreed to have dinner together.

APRIL 27, 1981 (EP. #4270)
Phillip informed Mac that he hasn't ordered the new presses because Jamie hasn't given him the financial report yet. Sandy, Jerry, and Blaine headed for Brooklyn. Liz asked Rachel about her marriage because of Mac's instructions not to let Rachel visit him in his office. Rachel told Liz to have Mac meet her at the Cory residence. Mitch accused Jason of being corrupted by his new bosses. Mitch told Jason he is selling his shares of The Sporting Life. Jamie told Mac that his family is falling apart because Mac and Rachel won't do anything about Mitch. Rachel told Ada she can live with her decision to leave Mac with Mitch's support. Mitch rejected Jordan and Jason's offer towards buying his shares of The Sporting Life. Jamie unknowingly sold the dock project to a company fronted by Jess. Liz and Cecile were surprised to discover that Mac had loaned $2000.00 to Sandy. Dr. Albert treated Jerry, wrote a prescription, and arranged a follow up appointment. Jamie accused Mitch of ruining Rachel's life, marriage to Mac, and tearing his family apart. Mitch warned Jamie about his position as heir apparent being in jeopardy if Mac and Rachel divorce when Jamie denied having any personal stake in the matter. Mac accused Rachel of denying her love for Mitch and putting the children's interests before her marital commitments. Sandy warned Blaine that they can't trust anyone and are people who hurt the ones they love. Thanks to Dr. Albert, Ilsa gave Sandy, Blaine, and Jerry's whereabouts to Jordan on the condition that Sandy be returned to unharmed. Rachel refused Mac's terms of keeping Mitch out of their lives to save their marriage and maintain custody of Amanda. Rachel admitted her infidelity to Mac, who left in tears. Jamie told Rachel that he didn't break up a family by marrying Cecile the way Rachel's affair with Mitch did.

Note: Sandy had an affair with a Senator's wife named Ann, who had two children in college. Ilsa discovered the affair and tried to force Sandy to blackmail her. When Sandy refused, two of Ilsa's men beat up Sandy and Ann turned up dead in an apparent suicide.

APRIL 28, 1981 (EP. #4271)
Jamie told Rachel that he didn't break up a family by marrying Cecile the way Rachel's affair with Mitch did. Sandy told Blaine he paid Dr. Albert extra money to keep their whereabouts secret. Rachel told Mitch she destroyed a family and must face the consequences of loving him. Sandy told Blaine that they're safe right now, but was pessimistic about escaping Jordan for good. Rick and Marianne decided to have a small wedding and reception. Jason told Jordan that Melissa doesn't know Blaine's whereabouts. Jason agreed to speak with Melissa for Jordan, who warned against withholding information from him. Blaine promised Jerry she'll make sure Jordan never hurts him again. Jason warned Mitch about getting involved with Rachel. Mitch couldn't convince Jason of Rachel's commitment to him, despite her decision to leave Mac. Melissa promised Jamie she won't choose sides or give any advice if he confides in her. Rick and Marianne settled on a mid-May wedding date, an outdoor ceremony, and Joey and Kit as their best man and maid of honor. Mac remembered Rachel being in prison and getting remarried. A drunken Jamie accused Mitch of using him to get to Rachel and demanded he stay out of everyone's lives. Mitch apologized when Jamie mentioned searching for him and spending time in jail. Jordan ordered Ken to keep Sandy and Blaine unharmed once they are apprehended while taking Jerry to his follow-up doctor's appointment. Mitch told Rachel that Jamie was drunk at The Connection and brought home by Phillip. Mac arrived to witness Mitch comforting Rachel. Phillip told Cecile that Jamie was supposed to be home with her rather than drinking when Cecile wasn't appreciative. Jamie became angry when Cecile mentioned his position at Cory Publishing potentially being compromised if Mac and Rachel divorce. Mac became violently angry when Mitch refused to leave the Cory residence without Rachel.

APRIL 29, 1981 (EP. #4272)
Rachel admitted to Ada that Mitch spent the night with her at the Cory residence and she confessed everything to Mac. Blaine informed Jerry that they are in Brooklyn and noticed his condition has improved since seeing the doctor. Ada suggested Rachel work things out with Jamie, who was upset over Mac and Rachel's confrontation. Ada was afraid for Rachel because she has to start a new life without Mac. Liz agreed to throw an engagement party for Marianne, while Pat handles the wedding ceremony. Rick aired his frustrations about Kit being too involved when Joey already knew about Rick and Marianne's upcoming wedding. Joey noticed the similiarities between Rick and Kit's concerns for each other and the people close to them. Clarice was disappointed about all of the problems going on between Mac, Rachel, Mitch, and Jamie but tried to comfort and reassure Ada. Brian informed Mac that the dock project has been sold and were both proud of Jamie for getting it done so quickly. Brian sympathized with Mac, who worried about the children and asked Brian to speed up the divorce proceedings. Rachel and Cecile blamed each other for Jamie's stress symptoms. Cecile reminded Rachel that Jamie will choose her side and accused Rachel of being determined to ruin Jamie's marriage as well. Mac and Brian were puzzled when Jamie missed a meeting with Captain Petroni and the insurance men about the Cory bombings. Liz gave Mary's wedding dress to Marianne. Jerry accepted Blaine's apology for hurting him and causing their breakup. Marianne seemed sad while looking at herself in Mary's wedding dress. Sandy warned Blaine to be careful about calling anyone. Sandy, Blaine, and Jerry worried about being short on funds. Sandy agreed to let Jerry call Kit. Mac confirmed for Ada that Mitch and Jamie were present during Mac and Rachel's fight. Mac promised Ada he'd reassure Jamie that nothing has changed their relationship and be a father figure to him. Mac told Ada to hope for the best that Jamie is working on his problems alone at the cabin.

APRIL 30, 1981 (EP. #4273)
Mitch told Jason that Rachel is getting a divorce from Mac. Sandy and Blaine became paranoid while waiting for Jerry, who was released from the free clinic with a lighter cast and prescription. Marianne suggested that Jamie see a doctor because of looking disoriented. Mitch changed the subject when Jason was suspicious about Rachel's request to be alone and sort out her feelings. Mitch warned Jason he'll learn to regret his involvement with Jordan. Marianne realized that Jamie had stolen pills from the medicine room after finding a set of keys. Jason admitted to Jordan that Melissa hasn't revealed the details of her relationship with Sandy. Jason assured an impatient Jordan that the escort service will be opening soon and he'll convince Mitch to agree to the company's plans. Sally suggested Leigh concentrate on their relationship instead of his problems. Phillip threatened to have Mac replace Jamie as The Ledger's publisher if he doesn't get his act together. Jerry informed Kit that he's been to a doctor and his condition has improved, but refused to reveal his whereabouts. Leigh began working for The Ledger. Jason decided to warn Mitch after telling Melissa he overheard Jordan arrange to have Mitch beaten up. Kit told Joey about her phone call from Jerry and that Sandy helped him and Blaine escape Jordan's men. Jamie apologized to Mac, who mentioned him missing a meeting regarding the Cory bombings and not giving Phillip the financial report for the new presses. Mac told Jamie that his position with Cory Publishing is still secure and to decide on which jobs he wishes to retain, since the rest will be delegated to someone else. Joey advised Kit to trust Jerry's love and that Clarice's heart belongs to Larry. Jason rescued Mitch from Jordan's thugs. Cecile laid into Jamie for not knowing his whereabouts and complained about covering for him at work. Cecile warned Jamie to convince Mac not to fire him after Jamie became sexually aggressive with her. Jason exploded at Jordan for hiring thugs to beat up Mitch. Jordan informed Jason he has no use for Mitch and that he'll need to be dealt with permanently.

MAY 1, 1981 (EP. #4274)
Mitch refused to tell Rachel how he received a bruised eye. Cecile lied to Phillip that the Ledger's financial report had been completed despite not finding it on Jamie's desk. Rachel told Mitch that she's worried about her children's reaction to the separation from Mac. Mitch understood when Rachel declined to move in with him until the divorce is final so it wouldn't hurt her chances of getting custody of Amanda. Blaine was surprised when Sandy grabbed a gun and left a ticket in the door before they took Jerry to a museum and planetarium. Ada agreed to let Rachel and the children move in with her. Jerry told Sandy about his parents and childhood. Ken and Eddie anxiously awaited Sandy, Jerry, and Blaine's arrival for Jerry's follow-up doctor's appointment. Liz accidentally told Jamie that Cecile completed the report for him. Mitch suspected that Jason helped him after being warned by Melissa and overhearing Jordan make arrangements for him. Blaine told Sandy she still cares about Jerry and agreed that they hurt the people they love. Phillip informed Jamie that the company who bought the dock project is a front and vowed to discover the true owners. Clarice was appreciative when Kit mentioned that Jerry's health is improving, but she doesn't know when he'll return. Dr. Albert gave Ken and Eddie the address where Sandy, Blaine, and Jerry are staying. Jamie confronted Cecile about the financial report and refused to talk about his meeting with Mac. Jamie accused Cecile of marrying him for being Mac's heir apparent and concern over his position at Cory Publishing. Cecile became angry over Jamie's insinuations that she'd marry any man next to takeover for Mac and feigned protests against his sexual advances. Clarice admitted her feelings for Jerry to Kit but promised to stay away from him. Ken and Eddie broke into Sandy, Jerry and Blaine's hotel room. Sandy noticed that the hotel room door had been tampered with.

Note: Jerry’s father was an alcoholic, who deserted his family when Jerry was very young. Jerry was raised, but not born in Las Vegas.

MAY 4, 1981 (EP. #4275)
Jamie was arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs. Sandy, Jerry, and Blaine attempted to escape after they noticed their hotel room door had been tampered with. Rachel told Mitch she and the children are moving into Ada's house. Rachel and Mitch told each other they'll be together through the good and bad times. Joey told Melissa that Kit heard from Jerry and that Sandy is helping Jerry and Blaine escape Jordan's men. Ken Steele and Eddie chased after Sandy, Jerry, and Blaine through the streets of New York. Mac was stunned when Phillip told him that the person who purchased the dock site is Jess Cooper, who is involved in organized crime. Phillip defended Jamie for making mistakes because of overwork and stress to Mac, who mentioned taking steps to change the situation. Rick got Jamie to admit to taking tranquilizers and driving. Jamie declined Rick's offer to call Cecile or Rachel for him. Jamie was booked at the police station. Melissa admitted to Joey that she and Sandy had once been lovers. Zachary signed gambling markers for Jordan and rejected his offer to help with his mayoral campaign. Zachary promised not to hassle Jordan about the escort service operating out of the Sporting Life. Rachel and Clarice related to each other because of their respective marital problems. Clarice consoled Rachel after they were finished packing the children's toys and refused help to bring Rachel to Ada's. Mac recalled Jamie being present when Mitch and Rachel's affair and Mac and Rachel's marital problems were exposed. Rachel left the Cory estate in tears after walking through the living room and looking at a picture of her and Mac holding Amanda. Zachary taunted Jamie for being in jail and not calling Brian to represent him. Sandy and Blaine helped Jerry, who struggled to keep up with them. Sandy stole a red truck for himself, Jerry and Blaine to escape from Ken and Eddie.

Note: Melissa and Sandy met in Los Angeles and were then both transferred to Las Vegas by Ilsa.

MAY 5, 1981 (EP. #4276)
Jerry told Sandy he is hindering their escape from Jordan's men and suggested they leave without him. Mac told Cecile he blames Rachel and not her for Jamie's problems and suggested they team up and help Jamie. Leigh reluctantly told Phillip that Jamie was arrested for being under the influence. Jordan laid into Ken Steele for losing track of Sandy, Jerry, and Blaine. Russ guessed it was Jamie whom Rick had tried to help kick an addiction. Russ and Rick planned an intervention with Rachel and Jamie. Ada advised Rachel to face the consequences of getting involved with Mitch and refused to let him stay with her. Jess ordered Jordan to retrieve Blaine himself and left Jason in charge of operations. Rachel told Russ that Mac is giving Jamie too much responsibility to spite her and caused his drug addiction. Phillip lectured Jamie but promised not to print the incident in The Daily Ledger. Jamie was stunned when Phillip informed him that Jess purchased the dock site using another company as a front. Mac told Rick about Jamie's erratic behavior at work and towards his family. Rick confessed to being pressured by Taylor and having a prescription drug problem to Mac. Rachel asked Mac if he is using Jamie for revenge. Mac pointed out that Rachel's selfishness caused Jamie's problems. Jordan requested that Larry help Jason run The Arena and The Connection. Jordan gloated to Larry that he's leaving town to bring Blaine back from New York. Cecile arrived after Jamie yelled at Phillip because Mac knows that the dock site project was sold to Jess. Jamie apologized to Cecile. Ada was surprised when Rachel mentioned Jamie's drug problem and blamed Mac for Jamie's troubles. Jamie assured Cecile he will never hurt her again while Cecile promised to support him. Jordan arrived in New York in a limousine.

MAY 6, 1981 (EP. #4277)
Rachel informed Mitch that Russ thinks Jamie has an addiction and blamed Cecile and Mac for causing it. Jordan gave Ken and Eddie pictures to aide in their search for Sandy, Blaine, and Jerry. Mitch urged Rachel to make plans to build a life with him and talked about opening an art gallery. Mac mentioned Rick and Marianne's engagement to Pat, who questioned Marianne's lack of pre-wedding jitters. Mac gave some of Jamie's workload to Pat hoping Jamie would become more stable and focused. Zachary refused to take Mitch's suggestion to investigate the escort service. Liz and Pat helped Rick and Marianne make wedding plans. Joey advised Mitch that Zachary gambles and warned against fighting Jordan and the company's plans. Pat used a call she received from Liz as an excuse to get out of discussing Jamie's ideas for Brava. Joey laid into Melissa for not telling him about the escort service. Melissa warned against crossing Jordan when Joey mentioned that Mitch plans to fight the company. Sandy pawned Ann's bracelet. Marianne told Pat that the family didn't need to make a fuss over her wedding to Rick. Mitch refused to listen to Melissa's warnings about fighting against Jordan's plans. Melissa suggested that Jason buy Mitch's shares of The Sporting Life without telling Jordan. Larry and Jamie discussed Zachary's gambling problem and The Arena. Jamie told Zachary that they're both the victims of vices and commented on his bad luck with gambling. Mitch asked for time to consider Jason's offer of buying his shares of The Sporting Life. Sandy gave Jerry some medicine and advised that they need to find a way out of running away to survive. Sandy was pessimistic towards Blaine and Jerry's ideas for raising money and warned against returning to Bay City. Mitch reassured Rachel that they'll find a place to live with the children.

MAY 7, 1981 (EP. #4278)
Rachel told Mitch she feels unsettled and can't start a new life with him yet. Mac was upset when Liz told him of Jamie's arrest and board members' concern over the publicity affecting Cory Publishing. Mitch suggested that Rachel resolve her differences with Jamie so she can have a future with him. Mitch and Rachel discussed pursuing work in photography and art. Rick was understanding towards Marianne for being stressed about finding an apartment and the wedding. Mac apologized to Jamie for giving him too many job responsibilities and advised that Pat has replaced him as publisher of Brava. Brian was sad over Mac and Rachel's marital issues because he's fond of both of them. Rachel confirmed for Brian that she and Mac want the divorce finalized quickly. Pat was surprised when Alice revealed Jamie's arrest. Alice speculated to Pat that Mac may no longer consider Jamie heir apparent by appointing Pat as Brava's publisher. Ada told Clarice that Rachel needs to build a life with Mitch and support the children. Jamie blamed Rick for getting him fired by talking to Mac. Rachel told Pat that Mac is retaliating against Jamie because of the separation. Mac accused Brian of taking sides by representing Rachel in the divorce. Marianne kept mum when Alice noticed a shortage of pills at the hospital and planned to tell Russ. Leigh fretted to Sally about being unable to play hockey and wasn't convinced when she insisted that Denny wants him to succeed. Cecile couldn't help Jamie from feeling his life is falling apart. Mac admitted to giving Jamie too much work when Rachel told Mac he wants to see Jamie fail but defended himself against her accusations of hurting Jamie more by firing him. Rachel told Mitch that Mac is punishing her whole family.

MAY 8, 1981 (EP. #4279)
Rachel told Mitch that she blames Mac for Jamie's troubles. Jamie received an urgent phone call from Marianne. A pharmacist recognized photographs of Sandy, Blaine, and Jerry that Ken and Eddie showed to him and unwittingly confirmed that Sandy has been getting prescriptions daily. Rachel told Mitch that Mac replaced Jamie as publisher of Brava to alleviate the pressure on him. Mitch insisted to Rachel that Mac is not purposely trying to cause Jamie to fail, but maintained that Mac is wrong to accuse her of hurting Jamie by pursuing her own interests. Sandy, Jerry, and Blaine argued over continuing to go to the pharmacy and moving to their next destination. Clarice told Larry that she is fine and that Cory's nightmares have stopped since he quit coming to the apartment. Mitch told Rachel that he wants to leave Bay City, but Rachel insisted that she has too many commitments in town. Sandy called to warn Jerry and Blaine that Jordan's men have traced them and urged them to go to the Brittany Arms. Rick encouraged Joey to apply for a job as an ambulance driver. Jamie and Marianne kissed and embraced after she offered to help him overcome his drug addiction, which was witnessed by Kit. Kit threatened to tell Rick about Jamie and Marianne's supposed romantic interlude. Ada and Clarice worried that Denny will berate Leigh for getting kicked off the hockey team because of his grades. Melissa ominously warned Larry that Jordan will succeed at bringing Blaine back. Larry promised Melissa that he will try to convince Jamie not to pursue an investigation into Jordan. Jamie and Joey discussed the Ledger inadvertently being sold to Jordan's syndicate and that Zachary is in Jordan's pocket because of gambling debts. Jordan was pleased that Ken and Eddie have Sandy, Blaine, and Jerry under surveillance. Joey urged Kit not to interfere in Rick and Marianne's lives. Melissa was dubious towards Jamie's resolve in putting Jordan behind bars. Mitch gave his shares of the Sporting Life to Jason. Jordan smugly greeted Sandy as he was attempting to leave the hotel room.

MAY 11, 1981 (EP. #4280)
Rachel learned from Brian that he would represent her in the divorce. Cecile fumed when Pat informed her that Mac appointed her as Brava's editor and that she is Cecile's boss. Ada reminded Mitch of his promises to provide for the children and make Rachel happy. Rachel told Jamie that Mac retaliated against him to punish her and blamed herself for not supporting his marriage. Jamie felt confident he could resolve his problems on his own and rejected Rachel's help. Jerry comforted Blaine when she became upset over putting Sandy and Jerry in danger and ruining her marriages. Jamie had Leigh replace one of Phillip's editorials for The Ledger without his approval. Marianne was touched when Rick gave her a ring before they left for the engagement party. Liz, Russ, and Olivia were surprised when Zachary arrived as Alice's date. Blaine called the motel room and was surprised that Jordan answered the phone. Blaine called Larry in an effort to help Sandy and Jerry. Russ offered joy and happiness as a toast to Rick and Marianne. Alice was disappointed when Leigh and Sally left the party instead of having dinner. Joey took Kit home when she tried to make Marianne publicly profess her love to Rick. Marianne informed Rick that Kit caught her comforting Jamie. Denny interrupted Leigh and Sally getting romantic at Clarice's house. Jordan ordered Ken and Eddie to wake up a badly bruised Sandy to extract Jerry and Blaine's whereabouts from him. Cecile confronted Jamie after showing him the prescription bottle she found. Mitch convinced Rachel to accept a check to open an art gallery. Jerry worried about Blaine when the police put him into protective custody. Cecile taunted Jamie for covering for Marianne and being a failure before sending Jamie packing. Blaine came to the motel room wanting to strike a deal with Jordan after Sandy stayed quiet.

Note: First appearance of James Horan as Denny Hobson.

MAY 12, 1981 (EP. #4281)

Blaine agreed to reconcile with Jordan in exchange for leaving Jerry alone and giving Sandy a job at the Sporting Life’s escort service. Denny told Leigh he was lucky to have someone attractive helping him with schoolwork. Kit refused to let Jamie speak with Marianne. Marianne enthused over her upcoming wedding for Kit’s benefit. Rick asked Jamie to be an usher at his wedding. Denny told Clarice he came to Bay City to see his family and for a job opportunity with Zachary. Marianne tried to assure Kit that she loves Rick and wants him as the father of her child. Clarice and Denny discussed their respective marital problems. Clarice offered to let Denny stay with her. Mac refused to consider Jamie's request of releasing him as heir apparent. Rick expressed his fears of commitment to Joey. Larry told Clarice that Jerry has been hospitalized in New York. Jamie admitted his drug habit to Mac and blamed himself for his career and marital problems. Denny agreed to have dinner with Clarice at Ada’s. Sandy lied to Joey that Blaine wanted to return to Jordan. Jordan accused Blaine of sleeping with either Jerry or Sandy and then raped her.

Note: Last appearance of Tom Brennan as Ken Steele.

MAY 13 and 14, 1981 (EP. #4282)
Mitch and Rachel talked about the future and made love. Sandy explained to Jamie what happened to himself, Blaine, and Jerry while in New York and asked Jamie to check up on Blaine periodically. Zachary threatened Philip with libel due to the Ledger article revealing Zachary's gambling debts and refusal to investigate Jerry's accident and the Cory bombings. Ada laid into Rachel for seeing too much of Mitch and neglecting everything else in her life. Philip told Mac it was Jamie who wrote the Ledger article on Zachary. Brian picked Jerry up from the airport, where Jerry and Kit reunited. Liz informed Mac that Sandy has returned to Bay City. Mac told Jamie that his article may cause a lawsuit against Cory Publishing. Larry didn’t buy it when Blaine informed him everything is fine between her and Jordan. Jerry worried about Sandy and Blaine’s whereabouts. Leigh felt smothered by Denny’s presence, but Clarice tried to assure Leigh that Denny has changed. Sandy promised to pay Mac back the $2,000 loan. Mac asked Sandy to resume his duties as assistant to Pat and Cecile or accept the new position of administrative assistant for Jamie. Joey and Kit warned Jerry to stay away from Blaine. Rick explained to Jamie what recovering from drugs is like. Jerry and Kit agreed to resume dating. Sandy was evasive with Melissa about what happened in New York.

Mac wasn’t pleased to hear Rachel was coming to the hospital with Mitch. Jordan refused to answer Jason’s questions about Blaine. Sandy told Jerry what happened in New York after Jerry was brought into protective custody. Rick and Alice treated Amanda and wanted to keep her overnight for observation. Mac refused to return Amanda to Rachel, who insisted on seeing her. Melissa tried to stop Jerry from seeing Blaine, who lied that she returned to Jordan on her own accord. Jamie talked to Sandy about being his assistant. Denny began to criticize Leigh over dinner with Ada. Alice comforted Mac. Rachel felt guilty over not protecting Amanda from the fall.

MAY 18, 1981 (EP. #4284)
Mitch and Rachel left to retrieve Amanda. Mac told Jamie his board members are meeting later to decide what to do about Jamie’s article on Zachary. Alice played with Amanda while waiting for Rachel. Melissa told Blaine she and Sandy were playing a dangerous game returning to Bay City. Blaine played Jordan’s dutiful lover for a suspicious Melissa. Mac took Amanda home before Rachel arrived. Brian gave Jamie legal advice on how to handle Zachary. Zachary demanded an apology and promise from Jamie not to write anymore articles of him being linked to organized crime. Larry told Jerry that the only way to free Blaine from Jordan is to find Jordan’s black book. Rick told Rachel and Mitch that Amanda was released from the hospital into Mac’s custody. Mac refused to return Amanda to Rachel, who accused Mac of kidnapping Amanda. Cecile resented needing Pat’s supervision over her work. Mac's board members ousted Jamie as publisher of the Ledger. Jim and Liz asked Russ and Alice to give Rick and Marianne time off from work for a honeymoon trip to Mexico and for Pat to look for a resort. Jordan refused Blaine’s suggestion to let Sandy work for the Connection or the Arena instead of the escort service. Mac thought Jamie and Cecile attending Rick and Marianne’s wedding would help their own marriage. Jamie kissed Marianne, who let him stay the night on the couch. Blaine became Jordan’s punching bag.

MAY 19, 1981 (EP. #4285)
Marianne put a blanket over Jamie, who fell asleep on the couch. Rachel told Mitch she’d like to make a sculpture of him. Marianne told Jamie she loves Rick and is expecting his child. Rick instructed Jamie on how to be an usher at the wedding. Jerry asked Larry to call Blaine and make sure she’s alright. Rick eased Marianne’s doubts about the wedding. A drunk Jamie accused Rachel of being obsessive and manipulative. Leigh asked Denny not to interfere in his life. Jim and Liz gave Rick and Marianne their wedding gift. Mac glared at Rachel as Cecile took Jamie home. Kit caught the wedding bouquet. Russ and Pat left to take Rick and Marianne to the airport. Cecile was shocked when Jamie called out Marianne’s name.

Sally thought it a good thing for Leigh’s big brother to be in Bay City. Blaine lied to Olivia and Alice that her injuries were due to falling down stairs. Mac asked Louise to let him know whenever Rachel arrives to see Amanda. Brian suggested that Rachel not see Mitch until the divorce is final. Leigh looked jealous watching Denny and Sally getting to know each other. Melissa warned Blaine to leave Jordan. Jamie gave Rachel his approval for her to see Mitch. Liz left work to meet with Jim. Mac and Alice agreed to have dinner together. Sally suggested that Leigh settle his differences with Denny instead of running away from his problems. Melissa told Sandy and Joey to stay away from Blaine. Sandy planned to take care of Jordan and help Blaine. Alice felt confident that Mac would be awarded temporary custody of Amanda. Joey told Sandy that Jordan needs to be put away for good. Mitch split temporarily with Rachel, who decided to move back in with Ada.

MAY 21, 1981 (EP. #4287)
Ada asked Rachel if she plans to get an apartment with Mitch. Mitch asked Jason to check out a studio with him. Joey and Jerry came to seek legal advice from Brian. Rachel resolved not to let anything stand in her way of gaining custody of Amanda. Brian was doubtful Zachary would be much help when Joey and Jerry wanted to have charges pressed against Jordan. Jason agreed to let Mitch live at the Sporting Life and seemed sincere that Mitch and Rachel would make it as a couple. Leigh told Ada that Sally refused to get an apartment with him. Pat and Alice agreed to throw a dinner party for Mac. Pat assured Alice that she and Brian are just friends. Jamie told Rachel he feels like a failure as a son and husband. Zachary told Brian to have Blaine file a police report for domestic violence. Pat and Cecile clashed over a new layout for Brava. Larry worried that Clarice is developing feelings for Jerry. Jordan forced Blaine to play hostess for a group of businessmen. Brian told Jerry that Zachary wants a witness willing to divulge information against Jordan before he investigates. Both Brian and Jerry were doubtful that Blaine would be that witness. Cecile offered Mac her help after learning Sandy was appointed Jamie’s assistant. Blaine refused to turn against Jordan despite Jerry’s protests. Alice and Kit discussed the hold ex-wives have on their former husbands. Alice told Kit she feels sorry for Mac. Sandy convinced Jamie to talk with Mac before he decides to quit Cory Publishing. Kit worried to Joey that something may have happened between Blaine and Jerry while they were on the run. Jason fumed over Jordan’s threat to send Melissa back to Las Vegas. Sandy tried to talk to Blaine, who was preparing for her hostess job. Jamie evaded Cecile’s questions about his talk with Sandy. Cecile and Jamie finally became romantic. Sandy asked Blaine to keep Jordan occupied so he could search for the black client book.

MAY 25, 1981 (EP. #4289)
Blaine stalled Jordan by coming onto him. Sandy told Joey his plans to find the black client book. Rachel was surprised when Cecile didn’t agree that Mac put too much pressure on Jamie. Cecile told Rachel that Sandy is Mac’s biological son and claimed to be concerned how the revelation would affect Jamie. Sandy convinced Jamie to wait for Mac, who left work to spend time with Amanda. Sandy and Jamie discussed half-siblings. Joey suggested Jerry spend more time with Kit and less worrying about Blaine. Mac convinced Jamie not to resign from Cory Publishing. Sandy asked Melissa to remain at the Arena in case Jordan shows up while Sandy searches Jordan’s office. Rachel told Ada that Sandy is Mac‘s son. Ada urged Rachel to keep mum, despite Rachel’s resolve to protect Jamie from the information. Alice worried about raising Sally. Mac agreed with Brian’s veiled comments about couples working their problems out for the sake of children. Blaine couldn’t keep Jordan from wanting to go to the Arena. Sandy searched Jordan’s office, but was unsuccessful in finding the client book. Jerry and Kit made love after a heart-to-heart talk about their relationship. Melissa and Blaine stalled Jordan to give Sandy enough time to get out of Jordan’s office. Mac confided in Alice about his recent troubles.

Note: Jamie mentions Ted Clark.

MAY 26, 1981 (EP. #4290)
Blaine decided to look in her and Jordan’s house for the black client book. Rachel, Brian, and Mac convened for the custody hearing. Mac was awarded temporary custody of Amanda with Rachel getting visitation rights. Despite Jerry’s objections, Larry wanted to search for the client book. Jerry told Larry that Clarice asked him to file divorce papers. Jordan threatened to send Melissa back to Vegas unless Jason gives up Mitch’s shares of the Sporting Life. Jerry promised to stall Larry and Clarice’s divorce. Jason told Melissa he wishes to get rid of Jordan. Blaine ransacked her house looking for the client book while keeping the phone off the hook. Rachel was stunned when Mac refused to let her see Amanda. Olivia asked Alice for advice on dating Russ, and was pleased when Alice refused a date with Zachary. Melissa and Sandy tried to call Blaine to warn her Jordan was coming home. Jordan walked in after Blaine found the client book hidden inside the fireplace. Rachel tried to find comfort in Mitch’s arms. During a struggle, Blaine shot Jordan and then fled the scene. Rachel decided to spend the night at Mitch’s apartment. A shadowy figure that Jordan recognized hovered over him.

Melissa tried to keep Sandy from checking on Blaine when they couldn’t reach her by phone. Clarice said goodbye to Denny, who hadn’t heard if he got the job as Zachary’s assistant yet. A hysterical Blaine interrupted Jerry and Kit’s pillow talk to reveal Jordan’s been shot. Jerry called Larry while Kit tried to comfort Blaine. Captain Petroni observed the crime scene with Zachary, who received a call from Melissa asking for Blaine. Kit was jealous watching Jerry console Blaine. Clarice and Ada discussed the estrangement between Denny and Leigh. Clarice worried that Larry was involved in Jordan’s murder. Mitch showed Rachel the space for the art gallery and photography lab. Blaine told Sandy that she found and lost the black client book. Jason cited legalities when he refused to let Mitch buy back into the Connection. In front of Brian, Zachary questioned Jerry about Jordan’s murder. Jamie promised to listen whenever Sandy was ready to talk about Jordan and Blaine. Clarice recalled Larry coming home and asking for patience with their marriage. Clarice told Leigh she felt bothered by Larry’s lies while he was working undercover. Brian threatened to remove Jerry off Blaine’s case if he gets too emotionally involved. Sandy told Melissa that Phillip is suspicious of him. Rick, Marianne, and Kit agreed to live together. Mac decided to help when Cecile explained her fight with Jamie. Marianne assured Pat she isn’t having doubts about her marriage to Rick. Jerry told Sandy and Melissa that Blaine is being arraigned tomorrow. Kit wondered whether Jerry and Blaine should have divorced. Jason told Melissa that the Arena and escort service will be shut down so the company can keep a low profile.
