Tracy thanked Jason for arranging a car to pick up Russ at the airport. Mac urged Liz to leave work and have dinner with Jim. Liz told Jim that Cecile is interested in power more than Jamie. Ilsa called Jason to say she couldn’t stop the car explosion meant to terminate Russ. Jason ran out when Dooley said that Tracy is meeting Russ at the airport. Zachary interrupted Jamie’s celebration to say he plans to question Mitch about the man who died in the Cory stables. Jason lost all hope when Russ confirmed it was Tracy who died in the car explosion. Ada urged Rachel to tell Mitch he’s the father of Matthew. Pat told Olivia that Russ plans to make arrangements for Tracy alone. Jamie wasn’t happy to hear that Mac and Rachel want Mitch to stay with them. Everyone was in shock over Tracy’s death. Olivia prepared Mitch for when his memory starts returning. Dooley broke up an argument between Russ and Jason, who each blamed the other for Tracy’s death. Jamie told Liz that Mac wants to hear Pat’s reasons for quitting Cory Publishing. Cecile lied about making amends with Pat when Jamie said she might return to work. Pat agreed to consider it when Mac wanted to hire her back as co-editor of Brava. Melissa told Ilsa she didn’t know Sandy’s whereabouts but suspected he would return. Cecile was upset with Mac’s disappointment in Cecile’s job performance while he was away. Rachel told Mitch that he and Tracy were very close and invited him to live at the Cory estate. Cecile was pleased when Jamie offered to talk to Mac for her. Ilsa told Jason that Sandy disappeared with her client book, which implicates both of them in the car explosion. Zachary warned Mitch not to leave town while he investigates the death of the unidentified man in the Cory stables. Russ remembered talking to Tracy about having a baby and cried.

FEBRUARY 5, 1981 (EP. #4214)
Mac didn’t share Cecile’s enthusiasm in securing an author for Brava and asked to see her later for a meeting. Sandy started his new construction job. Russ decided to go to work after Pat brought him home from the airport. Sandy got acquainted with Frankie, who advised him to wear warmer clothes for work. After Mac assured Pat that she and Cecile would have clearly defined roles as co-editors, Pat accepted Mac’s job offer. Russ refused Olivia’s suggestion that he deal with Tracy’s death. Cecile worried about Mac’s attitude and her upcoming meeting with him to Jamie. Cecile was upset when Mac advised she and Pat would be sharing co-editor duties. Joey picked Sandy up from work. FEBRUARY 6, 1981 (EP. #4215)
Mac decided to meet with Brian instead of remaining home with Rachel. Brian and Jerry were disturbed by the report stating that Margo’s car was found with her purse and house check inside, but with no sign of Margo. Olivia asked Rick about his refusal to take medication and drop in grades between his third and fourth years of medical school. At the Supper Club, Jason was haunted by images of Tracy singing. Mac voiced doubts about Mitch staying with them and learning he’s the father of Matthew to Rachel. Separately, Rick admitted his past addiction with prescription drugs to Olivia and Joey. Kit witnessed another episode of Marianne’s ambivalence towards Rick. Jason and Mitch discussed Tracy’s death and the Supper Club. Mac signed papers making Jamie his legal heir for Brian, who worried Jerry might go after Jordan because of Margo’s disappearance. Kit brought a sullen Rick home to Ada’s. Ada wasn’t pleased when Rachel wanted Mitch to be part of Matthew’s life. Kit explained to Joey that Rick paid dearly for trying to please his father, Taylor. Mitch told Rachel he plans to get his life together alone. Kit was shocked when Jerry vowed to nail Jordan, who Jerry suspects engineered Margo’s disappearance. Mac was upset to witness a “family-like" moment as Rachel watched Mitch hold Matthew.

FEBRUARY 9, 1981 (EP. #4216)
Jamie arrived at work early to remind Cecile about their dinner date. Jess urged Jordan and Blaine to purchase Miranda Bishop’s old house and join Bay City society. Zachary demanded to know how Larry acquired the loan for his new house. Mac and Rachel told Mitch about Janice, St. Croix, and Matthew’s paternity. Zachary was disappointed when Larry admitted it was Jordan not Mac, who extended a loan to him. Zachary explained his suspicions that Larry is on the take to Jordan, who plotted to blackmail Zachary with his gambling markers. Mac asked Jamie to see Ken Steele and investigate the unexplained accidents at the dock project. Mac didn’t pass judgment when Jamie admitted his interest in Cecile. Blaine worried about Jordan’s reaction now that Zachary knows about Jordan’s loan to Larry. Mitch agreed to think about it, when Mac asked him not to be involved in Matthew’s life. Mac asked Larry to help Jamie investigate the dock and West End projects. Larry apologized to Mac for Jamie’s arrest. Blaine walked into a fight where Jerry vowed to prove Jordan’s involvement in Margo’s disappearance. Jordan gave Blaine a shiner after accusing her of defending Jerry. Mitch visited his own tombstone. At Cecile’s suite, Jamie and Cecile danced and became intimate.

Rachel and Blaine brought plants as housewarming gifts for Clarice. Blaine agreed to ask Jerry for help whenever she needs it. Mac urged Jamie to ease up on his workload. Joey introduced Sandy to Larry, Jerry, Clarice, and Blaine. Joey told Sandy that Blaine is heading an escort service at the Connection. Mac told Rachel he wants to adopt Matthew. Larry couldn’t sooth Clarice’s doubts about the new house. Clarice asked if he might lose his job when Larry worried his meeting with Commissioner O’Dell involved letting Mac and Jamie escape while in Green Gables. Ada offered her place for Leigh to study and get away for a while. Ken Steele threatened to reveal the truth about the dock project “accidents” unless Jordan takes care of Jamie. Blaine broke down in tears when she arrived at her and Jordan’s new home.

FEBRUARY 16, 1981 (EP. #4221)
Joey and Sandy decided to share an apartment together. Liz brought Jim some preparations for Alice’s homecoming. Jamie stormed into Ken Steele’s office. Blaine visited Clarice, who worried Larry’s meeting with the Commissioner involved Jordan's loan. Jim told her not to interfere when Liz wondered if the feud between Rachel and Alice is over. Jerry refused to back up Larry’s confession of being involved in an undercover operation to Commissioner O’Dell. Jordan blackmailed Zachary with his gambling markers in exchange for Larry’s resignation from the police force. Jordan cryptically explained his intentions for Larry to Jess. Ken refused to help Jamie search for the missing equipment orders. Rick accepted the job offer from Russ, who warned that his performance will be monitored.
