- John met Lee's mother, Lee Dwyer, when he was a junior in college. His roommate's family was visiting and he asked John to take his sister, Lee Dwyer, to a fraternity dance
- Pat drove a 1962 Red Hillman with a license plate of RO-1918
- Dru quoted a line from the poem "Maud Muller" written by John Greenleaf Whittier in 1856 in the April 22, 1965 episode
- Dr. Henry Lewis was the Randolph family's physician for 15 years as of 1965
- John Randolph was stationed in Paris, France in 1944 during World War II
- Composer, songwriter, and pianist Cy Coleman appeared as himself on June 3, 1965
- Jim and Mary's wedding took place in November 1939 or 1940
