She found him terribly exciting and rubbed herself up against him at every opportunity. Yet she still wanted Tomas as her boyfriend. Maggie began exhibiting schizophrenic tendencies as she schemed to get *both* Nick and Tomas, at the same time. When they found out, they dumped her unceremoniously.
When Maggie got her bearings again, she homed in on poor Nick
and professed her undying love to him. Nick was happily frolicking
with Sofia Carlino and wanted no part of Maggie. Maggie did
everything she could to come between them. She used her position
as Sofia's best friend to counsel Sofia to cherish her virginity and not
give it to Nick.
When Nick was on the outs with Sofia, Maggie went to him and begged him to make love to her. Nick felt the Hudson testosterone coursing through his system and granted Maggie's fondest wish. When Nick and Sofia eloped, Maggie caught up to them and dropped the bomb. Sofia felt betrayed on both fronts and cut both Nick and Maggie out of her life.
Maggie pressed her advantage by claiming she was pregnant with
Nick's baby. Maggie didn't have to work very hard to get Nick to
marry her for the sake of the baby. Maggie made all sorts of
concessions, including agreeing to give Nick a divorce once the baby
was born if he would agree to leave town when the baby was born.
They were married in the Cory mansion living room, and Nick spent
the honeymoon night at Sassy's getting drunk and flirting with a girl
he'd just met.
Rafael Santiero, Nick's best friend, tipped Nick off anonymously that Maggie was faking her pregnancy. Nick dragged her into Carlino's and publicly dumped her. Though she had been humiliated, Maggie told everyone present that she regretted nothing and would do it all over again if she had the chance.
Rafael and Nick conspired to rid Maggie of her infatuation with Nick. After Nick gave Maggie the brush-off enough times, she got the message and left him in peace.
