In 1986, Jamie came back to town as a doctor and flirted with
several women, Vicky included. He helped save her from the
fire that burned down the North Woods Inn. Vicky left town,
and came back in mid-1987.

In early fall she made Jamie's
reacquaintance when she found her car blocked by his in the
garage at the Love Tower. When she got in a coma, Jamie did everything he could to make her well, and
Vicky fell in love with her heroic doctor.
Jamie was engaged to Lisa, but that
didn't deter Vicky. She pulled out all the stops in getting her hooks
into young Dr. Frame. When she taunted him that Lisa and Adam
Cory had been "making it" all along, he called her a bitch, she
dragged him to the nearest horizontal piece of furniture (the Frame
farm kitchen table), and they had sex.
Lisa broke it off with Jamie, and he and
Vicky slept together again, this time at Vicky's new apartment (in
what must be one of the most boringly directed love scenes ever).
This got Vicky pregnant. Lisa and Jamie resolved to raising the baby
themselves when it was born, but Vicky wanted her child and its
father.
Jamie did the honorable thing and
proposed. Vicky turned him down at first, wanting him to love her
for herself. They were married in February of 1989. A few months
later Jamie discovered that Vicky had kept secret that Jake might be
their baby's father. Early tests demonstrated that Steven was
conceived when Vicky and Jamie were apart, and that Steven and
Jake shared a rare blood type. Paternity tests conducted by a
long-time friend of Jamie's, and a doctor at BCGH since 1987, revealed that Jamie was Steven's
father.
It was too late for Vicky and Jamie's marriage though, and they
divorced later that year. Although Jamie won the custody battle for
Steven, Vicky was to begin raising him full-time in 1990 (this was
never explained). Jamie moved on to Vicky's twin, Marley, which
infuriated Vicky at first. Once she disguised herself as Marley and let
Jamie kiss her.
Jamie and Vicky became friends in
later years and get along well for the sake of their son.
