Bobby (the real or fake is unknown) spent 6 months in Blue Ridge facility, a juvi detention hall, for lifting the mayor's wallet.

He was convicted of murdering Rebecca Ambrose and sent to prison, where he escaped during a prisoner transfer. When fellow convict Bobby Reno was killed, Shane assumed his identify, letting the world believe it was Shane who had died.

Freeze Frame MEDICAL HISTORY
Shane crashed his race car on Labor Day of 1995. A few weeks later he received a cornea transplant from the recently deceased Ryan Harrison. Many of Ryan's memories were transferred to Bobby in the process.

Shane died in a car crash during a severe snow storm.

He had a mustache from August to December 1996 and from June 1997 to the present. He had a beard from December 1996 to June 1997, and a goatee from December 1997 to February 1998.

Freeze Frame During his stay at an El Salvador Air Force base, Shane contracted a deadly blood parasite. It awakened from dormancy in 1997. Shane began wasting away, and it looked like his death was imminent until one of the cures he devised worked.
